President of WILDAF Mali, Women in Law and Development in Africa

Currently the president of WILDAF Mali, Women in Law and Development in Africa, based in Bamako, Mali.
She has also for several years acted as head of program for WILDAF Mali, which has regional offices across several regions in Mali (Sikasso, Kayes, Segou and Gao).

Trained as a lawyer she has for many years worked to improve women’s judicial rights through WILDAF activities in several regions in Mali. She has offered legal assistance to women as well as offered training in the legal rights and human rights of women and children, violence against women and methods of prevention/care for victims, female leadership, advocacy etc. She has also contributed to the development of a curriculum and training of a para legal corps of trainers.

Mrs. Bouaré is dedicated to the struggle for gender equality and for the implementation of the international conventions that Mali has ratified and is a signatory to.

Since the beginning of the war in 2012 WILDAF has been active in monitoring the serious implications for different populations in the northern part of Mali, especially women and girls, who, among other, have been victims of rape, abduction, wrongful incarceration, flogging, stoning, forced marriage, and have lost material and financial resources. WILDAF has helped set up reception centers to help victims of rape and violence as well as mobile cliniques offering judicial assistance. Read more

WILDAF Mali is also a member of the MUSONET network, and an implementing party to the Enable Girl's and Women's Rights in Mali, responsible for the launch of the campaign in Gao November 8. 2016.  See KULU article
