Klimaforandringer er ikke kønsneutrale..
De påvirker kvinders vilkår, leveomkostninger og muligheder overalt i verden – mest dramatisk i fattige egne af verden, hvor folk i forvejen kæmper for den daglige overlevelse. Mange fattige lande kæmper med firdobbelte udfordringer af fattigdom, covid/mpox, konflikt og skrøbelige stater. Hvis ingen skal efterlades i den globale udvikling, skal kvinderettigheder og ligestilling indarbejdes i internationale og nationale klimaprocesser, tiltag og projekter.
Men kønnede konsekvenser af klimaforandringerne er ikke tilstrækkeligt integreret, hvilket bl.a. skyldes netop den manglende forståelse for og viden om sammenhæng mellem kvinderettigheder, køn og klimaforandringerne. Dette forhindrer bæredygtige løsninger og handling.
KULUs COPGendered projekt vil rette op på disse mangler ved at oplyse om sammenhængene, opbygge forståelsen og udvikle redskaber og metoder rettet mod enkeltpersoner, grupper og voksenundervisere og andre formidlere.
Værktøjerne er Briefing papers og faktaark om kvinder, køn og klima; E-Learning tools; Trainers resource bank, Webinars og Rapporter fra internationale konferencer og kapacitetsopbygningsevents.

Gender & Climate Justice:
Knowledge for Empowerment
We’re excited to share the launch of the COPGendered Trainer’s Hub: “Gender & Climate Justice: Knowledge for Empowerment”.
While there is a wealth of educational material focused on raising awareness about climate change and environmental degradation, relatively little of it integrates a gender and climate justice perspective. This gap exists not only in terms of content, but also in teaching approaches.
It offers a range of methods for anyone facilitating or training groups. The tools presented in this hub therefore not only foster interaction and build skills for collective civic engagement, but do so in ways that are creative, engaging, motivating, and enjoyable. It can be used by people that are not experienced up to experienced trainers.
This hub responds to that need by providing feminist popular education methods tailored to adult learning in group settings, with an emphasis on empowering people to take action as active citizens. It incorporates the body, emotions, and action, alongside participatory and activist learning processes.
Tools included in this hub cover:
· Role plays, including: ‘debating for socio-environmental advocacy’, and acting role plays: ‘a climate mobility scenario through role play’, ‘“What migrants carry with them”, using bags to highlight migration, gender and climate change’, and ‘Parat – Constellation game to promote gender and climate justice awareness’.
· Making use of photos and videos, see: ‘Uncovering the voice on feminist urban planning through photos’ and ‘‘Undammed’ – an audio-visual approach to feminism and climate action’.
· Practicing creative skills: ‘Countering fake news on climate change and women’s rights’, and ‘Climate & “Comics – Say it with your own words” & “Pics and Slogans”’.
· Collaborative games like ‘Climate Justice Bingo’, ‘Lego® Serious Play® as method for connecting to gender and climate justice’, and ‘Gender and Disability Climate Game’.
· Methods that focus on sharing memories or connection with the body, such as ‘Body mapping – A Feminist methodology connecting Experiences with Climate Change, and ‘Caring for and Defending Life’.
· Group processes spanning multiple meetings for community building: ‘The climate challenge’, ‘Design thinking, neighbourhood laboratories’, and ‘Gender and Climate, get ready to engage study circle’.
All methodologies are available in English and can be used as a standalone tool. Components include the pedagogical approach, learning gaols and obviously the methodological instructions, including relevant background materials, resources or suggestions on where to find them. | About COPGendered |
| The Trainer’s Hub is part of the three-year Erasmus+ project, which ended in November 2025: “Gender & Climate Justice: Knowledge for Empowerment” (COPGendered). The project builds up tools, knowledge and methodologies for learners to upskill themselves (in groups, individually or with a teacher) in the relationships between gender inequality and the climate crisis. This includes providing tools for adult education providers. The consortium for this project consists of seven organisations, with WIDE+ as coordinator. Six partners are WIDE+ member organisations, WIDE in Austria, GADIP in Sweden, KULU Women and Development in Denmark, Mundubat in Spain and CSCD in Bulgaria, coupled with partner LIFE e.V. in Germany (previously GenderCC).
